MARENGO – Frank J. Bandel, 82, of Marengo, passed away Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, at his home.|
He was born July 6, 1930, in Chicago, to John and Anna (Kump) Bandel. On Sept. 16, 1950, he married Lorraine Buzinski in Elmwood Park.
Frank worked in the union as a printing pressman. He and his wife raised their family in Itasca before retiring to Marengo in 1987. He enjoyed building and flying model airplanes, being outdoors and working in the garden. He was a man of great strength, patience and love for his family and home.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lorraine; sons, David B. Bandel, Paul R. (Norma) Bandel and Michael W. (Theresa) Bandel; grandsons, Christopher and Anthony, and Brad (Savanna) and Mark; great-granddaughter, Bella; and siblings, James (Sandra) Bandel and Joanne (Virgil) Hutsler.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 323 N. Taylor St., Marengo. Inurnment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
