Obituary Condolences

HARVARD – Agnes Nicholson of Harvard died at home Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, from cancer at age 91.
Agnes was born April 27, 1921, in Plain, Wis., to Ludwig and Anna, nee Bauer, Alt. She married Ervin J. Nicholson on April 9, 1940, in Dubuque, Iowa.
She was educated at Muscoda, Wis., schools, worked at Lanning Bag Co. for 33 years, and loved to crochet, knit and piece quilt, doing all the work by hand.
Agnes is survived by a large family including her sister, Anna Mae (Olen) Dickerson of Labelle, Fla.; son-in-law, Jack Nolan of Harvard; sister-in-law, Jan Alt of Glasgow, Ky.; grandsons, Joshua Nolan of Harvard, Darin (Stacy) Kolls of Belvidere, Dan (Diana) Kolls of Philadelphia and Ronald Kolls of Capron; granddaughters, Darla Bailey of Beloit, Wis., Debra Mendoza of Harvard, Jennifer (Mick) Casteel of Machesney Park and Christina Nolan of Harvard; great-grandchildren, Nicole Ayre, Jessica, Bridgette and John Nolan, Austin and Alex Casteel, Thomas and Roger MacKechnie and Bryce Parker; one great-great-grandson, Caleb Parker; and many nieces and nephews.
Agnes is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ervin; daughters, Stella Nolan and Adeline Kolls; grandson, John Nolan Jr.; sisters, Bernadine Ratzlaff and Viola Meckley; brothers, Francis, Floyd and William Alt; brothers-in-law, William Meckley and Charles Ratzlaff; and sisters-in-law, Patricia, Marge and Minnie Alt.
The visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, 107 W. Sumner St., Harvard. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 206 E. Front St., Harvard. Father Rafael Tunarosa will officiate.
Interment will be in Mount Auburn Cemetery.
