WOODSTOCK – Lucille M. Angelo, 91, passed away peacefully at Hearthstone Manor on Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. |
Lucille was born Oct. 29, 1921, to Robert and Lillian (McCarthy) Bryant of St. Louis. She married Jim Angelo on Feb. 14, 1942.
Lucille enjoyed bowling, golfing, ceramics, bridge and painting, and she had the best and largest garden. She loved music and dancing, but her greatest pleasure was her family. When Jim retired they traveled all across the United States, bringing back many memories.
She was a Eucharist minister with Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Crystal Lake. She was employed at Piggly Wiggly and also part time at the Village Resale Shop until she retired.
She is survived by her daughter, Pat Fitzgerald of Woodstock; sons, Joe (Young Ku) Angelo of California and Jim (Sue) Angelo of Elgin; daughter-in-law, Judy Angelo of St. Louis; seven grandchildren, Kevin (Kristi) Fitzgerald, Becky Fitzgerald, Stacy (Jimmie) Emerson, Danny (Andrea) Angelo, Patrick Angelo, Kris Kim and Chris (Vanessa) Angelo; six great-grandchildren, Abby and Quinn Fitzgerald, Grace and Nathan Angelo and Braxton and Meredith Angelo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Ruth Bartels; husband; daughter, Patricia Angelo; son, Butch Angelo; son-in-law, Jim Fitzgerald; grandson, Mark Angelo; and brothers-in-law, Thomas and John Angelo.
The visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church on McHenry Avenue in Crystal Lake. Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 2, in Crystal Lake Union Cemetery, 8012 Ridgefield Road, Crystal Lake.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Heartland Hospice, 220 N. Smith St., Suite 420, Palatine, IL 60067, would be appreciated.
