Sharon L. Blasinski Obituary
Sharon L. Blasinski Born: Sept. 5, 1946; in Chicago Died: April 17, 2014 On Thursday, April 17, 2014, Heaven received another angel. Sharon was born September 5, 1946 in Chicago, the daughter of Leslie and Grace (Bailey) Reid. On August 13, 1966 in Chicago, she married Robert Blasinski. In her 67 years Sharon left a mark on her family and friends that is indescribable. If you asked her opinion she gave it honestly, that was the only way she knew how. She consoled the sad, laughed with the happy and lightened the mood wherever she was. Her love of life was contagious and she was never at a loss for a witty comeback followed by her sarcastic smile. Sharon made friends wherever she went, whether it was at work, the store or on one of the many weekend trips she enjoyed taking with her husband Bob. Many people say they loved her and it was easy to do. She invited you in and never let you go. Her love was equal and unending. In 1990 she took on a role she cherished most, that of Nana. Her 7 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter filled her with pride and a new zest for life. Nana's famous New Years Eve parties and special holiday get-togethers made memories that everyone will cherish for a lifetime. Sharon is survived by her husband of 47 years, Robert; children, Robert Jr., (Michele) Blasinski, Tina A. (Rusty) Bottcher, Christopher Blasinski; grandchildren, Amanda, Hannah, Emma, and Owen Blasinski, Laura and Austin Bottcher, Skylar Blasinski; and great-granddaughter Brooklyn Bottcher. She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be on Thursday, April 24, from 2:00 to 8:00 pm at the James A. O'Connor Funeral Home, 11603 E. Main St., Huntley, and will continue on Friday, April 25 at the Cosman Cultural Center, 12015 Mill St. Huntley from 10:00 am until the 1:00 pm Funeral Service. Burial will be at a later date in the Huntley Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be directed to the Salvation Army, 290 W. Crystal Lake Ave, Crystal Lake, IL 60014.
