Obituary Condolences

BLOOMINGTON – Eileen M. Knoerzer (Deakin), 60, a resident of Bloomington and formerly of Algonquin, passed away Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012.
Eileen was born in Hammond, Ind., on March 24, 1952, to the late Joseph and Emma Deakin (Barragree).
Eileen is survived by her beloved husband, Geoffrey M. Knoerzer, whom she married Sept. 6, 1969. Eileen is also survived by her brother, Joseph (Regina) Deakin of Shererville, Ind.; loving children, Geoffrey Knoerzer Jr., Jennifer (James) Magnelli and Christopher Knoerzer; and two grandsons, Mario Magnelli and Anthony Magnelli.
Eileen was very active in the community at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, The Knights of Columbus and Prevent Child Abuse America.
Eileen enjoyed the opportunity to meet new people, spend time with family and friends, travel on cruises and vacation in Ixtapa, Mexico.
Her continued interest in reading has had a strong influence on her grandsons. She enjoyed the opportunity to dance and celebrate life through her friendships. She will be missed by her best friend and beloved husband of 43 years. She continued to support the Chicago Cubs for a World Series pennant.
The visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, at the Willow Funeral Home, 1415 W. Algonquin Road, Algonquin. The funeral service will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at the funeral home, with a final visitation and procession to St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 111 S. Hubbard St., Algonquin, for the 10 a.m. funeral Mass celebration.
Eileen will be laid to rest in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, 1185 West Algonquin Road, Palatine.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Amyloidosis Support Groups, 232 Orchard Drive, Wood Dale, IL 60191 or Prevent Child Abuse America, 228 S. Wabash Ave., Suite 1000, Chicago, IL 60604.
