Obituary Condolences

JOHNSBURG – Marjorie E. Davidson, 84, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at home with her family in Johnsburg.
She was born in Chicago on March 24, 1928, to Paul and Evelyn (Lange) Schultz.
Raised in Chicago, she summered with her family for many years in Island Lake, where she met her future husband, Andy, also of Chicago. They married June 3, 1950, and raised their family in Island Lake. Marge worked as a bookkeeper and executive secretary for many years.
She and Andy loved to go for a ride, traveling in their truck camper and dancing to big-band music. Summers often were spent on the Chippewa Flowage in Hayward, Wis., where they enjoyed the company of family and friends while fishing and playing card games.
After Andy's death in 1990, Marge joined her daughter Karen and family at their home in Johnsburg. Marge was a proud grandmother of five and enjoyed her role as caregiver to Andy and Gina when they were young. Marge loved eating out, crossword and jigsaw puzzles, romance novels, cribbage, soap operas and shopping on QVC.
Marge was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in McHenry for 20 years, where she participated in XYZ club and Bible study groups, and enjoyed the friendship of the "Church Chicks." She and the ladies enjoyed attending plays and dinners together, with musical productions being her favorite. She also spent time with the "Nooners" and other card groups, especially her Monday pinochle group.
Survivors include three children, Debbie (Jim) Rauschert of Algonquin, Karen (Dominick) Rubino of Johnsburg and Drew (Sally) Davidson of Crystal Lake; five grandchildren, Andy and Gina Rubino of Johnsburg, Sarah (Mario) Traverso of St. Cloud, Fla., and A.J. and Mary Beth Davidson of Crystal Lake; two sisters-in-law, Nita (Bob) Schultz of Salt Lake City, Utah, and LaVerne (Bill) Becker of Carpentersville; nieces and nephews and their children; and many friends from high school, Island Lake friends, the Church Chicks and her Shepherd of the Hills family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; three brothers, Paul (Rosadelle) Schultz, Elmer Schultz and Robert Schultz; her husband's sister, Dorothy (Bill) Moeller; her husband's brother, Bill (Betty) Davidson; and brother-in-law Bill Becker.
Friends may meet the family from 10 a.m. until the memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 404 N. Green St., McHenry. Pastor Roger Schneider will officiate. A luncheon at the church will follow the service.
Her family suggests memorials be made to the church or Hospice of Northeastern Illinois, 405 Lake Zurich Road, Barrington, IL 60010.
The family would like to thank Hospice and Palliative Care of Northeastern Illinois for all of the loving care they gave to Marge, especially her nurse, Jama, and personal aide, Shelly.
Arrangements were entrusted to Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Road, McHenry. For information, call the funeral home at 815-385-2400 or visit www.justenfh.com, where friends may leave an online condolence message for her family.
