She was born on Nov. 18, 1994, in Barrington, the daughter of Thomas and Michelle (Melone) Weyers.
She is survived by her mother, Michelle (Ken Tank); father, Thomas (Debbie Lively); siblings, Joseph (Jennifer), Colleen Ingram (Eric), Anna Jones (Jonathan) and Matthew; and nephews, Maximilian, Augustine, Dominic (Joe and Jen), Jackson and Baby No. 2 (Anna and Jonathan); grandparents are Robert and Louise Weyers (Chicago), Tina Melone (Sycamore) and Enes Melone (Bensenville). She was a niece and cousin to many.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Nicholas Melone.
Emily graduated from Dundee-Crown High School in May of 2013 and was attending DePaul University starting in September 2013. She had a passion for working with the LGBTQ Community and wanted to pursue a career as an advocate lawyer for this community. She took pride in her talents in ColorGuard, theater, debate and music. She will be remembered for her infectious smiles and laughter, and the way she chose to love life. Her motto was always "EmiLoves Life," and she chose to share her joy with others through her volunteer work and dedication of helping others.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 23, 2013, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. Burial will be in the Algonquin Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 22, in the Wait Ross Allanson Funeral & Cremation Services Chapel, 201 S. Main St., Algonquin and on Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church from noon until the time of Mass.
