WOODSTOCK – Ralph Cervantes, 72, of Woodstock, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013, surrounded by those he laughed with, lived for and loved.|
Ralph was born in Chicago on Aug. 9, 1941, and graduated from St. Jude Seminary of Momence. He attended Elgin Community College and was employed in printing and retail businesses. Ralph was married to Patricia Kolls on Oct. 11, 1975.
Ralph cared deeply about his family and friends, his heritage, the church and his beloved Chicago Cubs. He will be remembered for his generosity of spirit and sense of humor.
Ralph is survived by his wife, Patricia; daughters, Sue (Don) Trede, Lisa (Mike) Frauens, Margaret Cervantes, Laura Cervantes and Jennifer Cervantes; grandchildren, Brad (Courtney) Trede, Lauryn Trede, Bret Wienke, Shannon Cervantes, Jared (Alyssa) Wienke, Andrew Frauens, Kirsten Frauens; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Joseph (Diane), James (Susan) and Daniel (Jane); and many cherished nephews and nieces.
He is preceded in death by his beloved parents; brother, Ramon; and nephew, Timothy.
We thank his extended family and many friends for their love and support. We thank his doctors and hospice team for their compassion and dedication. We thank God for the gift of his life and the blessing of the time we spent with him.
A celebration of his life will be on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013, and will include a visitation at 9 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 11:30 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Woodstock.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Grace Lutheran Church, 1300 Kishwaukee Valley Road, Woodstock; JourneyCare Hospice Foundation at 405 Lake Zurich Road, Barrington; or SEA Blue Prostate Cancer at 5003 Fairview Ave., Downers Grove.
