Florence LaVonne Hoyt|
Born: July 13, 1917; in North Dakota
Died: July 10, 2014; in Woodstock
Florence LaVonne Hoyt passed from this world to the next in her own home in rural Woodstock the morning of July 10, 2014, three days short of her 97th birthday. She was born on a newly homesteaded farm near Millarton, North Dakota July 13, 1917 to Ralph and Ada Robinett. Florence graduated from Lyons Township High School, before marrying Wilson Hoyt in 1937 and settling near LaGrange, Illinois. The family moved to Woodstock in 1950. She has been a member of First Congregational Church of Huntley since.
Florence and Pete raised four sons, Howard (MaryAnn) of Huntley, John (Karen) of Woodstock, Richard (Linda) of Woodstock, and Larry (Debbie) of Gridley.
Florence is survived by a brother, Ralph Robinett of Ocala, Florida; four sons; ten grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Wayne who died during WWII; her husband; daughter-in-law, Debbie; and grandson, Adam.
Florence was quite committed to the loving care for her husband, sons, and their families, and was very intentional to the fairness shown to all. Her determination to live out her life in her own home was legendary within the family. To the end she maintained a clear faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the First Congregational Church of Huntley BOLD Fund or Woodstock Fire and Rescue.
A visitation will be held at 10:00 on Saturday, July 19th at the Schneider Leucht Merwin and Cooney Funeral Home, 1211 N Seminary, (Route 47) Woodstock, followed by a service at 11:00, Reverend Lance Lackore presiding. A luncheon to follow. Internment to be private.
