MARGARITA LUGO (NEE BERUMEN) HAMMOND, IN Margarita Lugo (nee Berumen), age 83 of Hammond, passed away Friday, January 27, 2012. Survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Rodolfo; children: Sonia (Richard) Igras, Rodolfo Jr. (Theresa), Bruce (Kathy), Carlos (Theresa), Veronica (Joseph) Claus and Roxanna (Patrick) O'Rourke; 23 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; sister, Guadalupe Cuevas; brother, Abelino Berumen; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and dearest friend, Elva Lopez. Preceded in death by her sons: Victor Lugo and David Rene Lugo; eight brothers; and two sisters. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 beginning with 9:30 AM Prayers at the Solan Pruzin Funeral Home, 7109 Calumet Ave., Hammond for a 10:00 AM Mass at St. John Bosco Catholic Church. At rest, St John Cemetery in Hammond. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 from 2:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Wake service at 2:30 PM. Margarita was a longtime area resident, member of St. John Bosco Church and former active member of St. Mary Church in Hammond. She also worked as a Teachers Aid at Maywood Elementary School in Hammond.
