HARRY VON ALVEN NORTH JUDSON, IN
Harry "Bud" Von Alven, 81, of North Judson, IN, formerly of Beecher passed away Saturday June 14, 2014 at his home. He was born on April 5, 1933 the son of Harry and Mearle Von Alven in Beecher, IL. Harry is survived by his wife, Elaine Von Alven. Also surviving are his children: Terri (Marty) Schmidt of Beecher, IL, Tricia Delaney of Lawrenceville, GA, Trudi (Phil) Katona of Crown Point, IN, Aaron (Danielle) Von Alven of Beecher, IL and Eric Von Alven of Manteno, IL. He is also survived by his siblings: Jerry (Carol) Von Alven of Beecher, IL, Fred Von Alven of Burlington, WI, Elda Mae Hackel of Custer Park, IL; as well as stepdaughter, Kirsten (John) Hammock of Quincy, IL; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and many other loving family members. Bud was preceded in death by his parents; a previous wife, Kathy; a brother, Jim; sister, Barbara, sister-in-law, Evelyn; and brother-in-law, Edward. Bud was a master craftsman and took great pride in his work as well as being an avid fisherman. He also served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War. Bud was also a lifetime member of the NRA as well as the Beecher Amvet Post, and the Moose Lodge. Visitation will be Thursday June 19, 2014 from 12:00 noon until 6:00 p.m. A memorial service will also be conducted Thursday June 19, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. at Hack Funeral Home in Beecher. Rev. Tom Ewing will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded. Condolences may be sent at hackfuneralhome.com.
