Nichole was a graduate of Crown Point High School and an employee of Wittenberg Village. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Lambert; parents, Raymond and Barbara Rickert; brothers: Daryl and GeraldRickert. AMY LEONAS July 17, 1976 - July 23, 2015 Amy Leonas, 39, beloved daughter of Ted and Marla Leonas. Loving sister of Melinda Leonas, Lynsey (Casey) Johnston, Carley Leonas, Elizabeth Leonas and Teddy Leonas. Cherished aunt of Eva Johnston. Best friend of cousin Jennifer (Connor) Ford. Amy was preceded in death by her biological mother, Carole Brady. She was fond of her many aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. Amy was an attorney. She was a graduate of Valparaiso University and received her law degree from Washington University in St. Louis. Amy began her law career as a Cook County Assistant States Attorney where she spent a great deal of time prosecuting cases in the domestic violence division. Eventually Amy branched into entertainment law, where she served as legal advisor to the Daytime Emmy Award winning "Judge Pirro" show, followed by her last positions where she served as legal advisor for ITV's nationally syndicated "Jeremy Kyle" and "Bill Cunningham" television shows in New York City. Amy enjoyed a number of close friends, many of which were law school classmates and former colleagues, who played an instrumental role in helping both Amy and her family cope with Amy's terminal diagnosis, and her 20-month courageous battle with Glioblastoma Multiforme. Services are being held privately. The family is asking that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in the name of Amy Leonasto the American Brain Tumor Association ( ABTA.org ), 8550 W. GLORIA JEAN LINK EAST CHICAGO, IN Gloria Jean Link, age 74, of East Chicago, IN passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2015. Gloria was the beloved sister to John Link and Shirley (Nick) Lash. Survivors also include her two special nieces: Stephanie Bradsky and Carie (Adam) Roorda; special nephew: Christopher Lash; dear uncle: Charles (Marie) Ursa; special aunt: Hope Ursa; and several loving nieces and cousins. MARIA J. LUNA PEORIA, AZ, FORMERLY OF EAST CHICAGO, IN Formerly of East Chicago, IN Maria J. Luna, age 94, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2015 in Peoria, AZ. She was born May 17, 1921 in Durango, Mexico to the late Acension and Maria Jaquez. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Jose E. Luna; son, Oscar S. Luna and daughter, Joann Castillo. Maria is survived by her loving children, Irma Barney, Alfred (Rosemarie) Luna, Elvira (Phillip) Stabolito, Jesse Luna, Grace (Juan) Torres and Sylvia (Arthur) Lopez; 22 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; one sister, Luisa Maria (Roberto) Jaime; daughter in law, Cheryl Luna; a host of other loving family members and friends. Maria will be remembered as a loving person. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in East Chicago, IN. Lomey, Ronald  
RONALD LOMEY MUNSTER, IN Ronald Lomey, age 78 of Munster, passed away on June 27, 2015, from surgical complications with his family by his side. Ron is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Mary (nee Hecker); daughter Christine (Mike) Ulinski of Chicago; sister Lydia (Anatol) Brunton of Menifee, CA; brother Theodore (Marilyn) Lomey of Casselberry, FL; niece Lana (Val) Naona of Dana Point, CA; and nephew Mark Lomey of Casselberry, FL. A 1955 graduate of Theodore Roosevelt High School in Wyandotte, MI, Ron began his studies at Wayne State University. A summer job delivering cars to the southwest led Ron to Arizona where he moved his entire family only to be then drafted into the Army. He served two years primarily in Germany. Ron returned to Arizona and completed his Metallurgical Engineering degree from University of Arizona in 1965. Accepting a position with Republic Steel, Ron moved to Massillon, OH, where he also met his future wife. He was transferred to Gary as Plant Metallurgist one year later. Choosing to remain in the area for family reasons, he worked for both Republic Steel and LaSalle Steel twice, along with Wisconsin Steel in a variety of positions from technical service representative, salesman, sales manager, and product manager. He was known for his dedication to his job as evidenced by his walking six miles to work during the 1967 blizzard. In addition he enjoyed hockey beginning with the Redwings and college basketball, especially Bobby Knight, tracking his players and coaches. Ron enjoyed entertaining customers at Bears and Blackhawk games. He knew and appreciated classical music having season tickets to CSO, Music of the Baroque, and Lyric Opera over the years. And he was devoted to the music of the Windsbacher Knabenchor. Ron was a member of ASM In- ternational, American Institute for Mining, Metallurgical, and Petroleum Engineers, the Ritardandos, ROMEOs, BILs, and Westminster Presbyterian Church serving on session three times, as president of trustees, as a member of the choir, columbarium and new member committees, acorns prayer, and cancer support groups. Ron will be remembered for his wit, logic, gentlemanly manner, and kind heart towards those he loved and cared for. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2015, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 8955 Columbia Avenue, Munster, with visitation at 10:00 a.m. and service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Quincy Worthington officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Munster Salvation Army, or the music program at Westminster Presbyterian Church would be appreciated. VERTEEN LOYD MERRILLVILLE, IN Verteen Loyd "Tina", age 67 of Merrillville, IN passed away Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Methodist Hospital Southlake Campus in Merrillville. Survivors are her loving companion, David Durr; two sons: Eric (Theresa) Loyd and David Durr, Jr.; six grandchildren: Brisenda, Erilynn, Maci, David III, Kamorah and Kanyia; three sisters: Irene Nute, Reda Ewing and Viola Loyd; one brother, Charlie Gatson; three goddaughters: Mariah, Lakia and Leniah Davis; two godsons: James Walters and David Boyd, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by parents, Woodrow and Alma Loyd. Funeral Services will be held Friday, July 24, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Meek Baptist Church, 4830 Alexander Avenue, East Chicago, IN, Rev. JOSEPHINE LYNN CROWN POINT, IN Josephine Lynn age 99, late of Crown Point, IN formerly of the East Side, passed away July 22, 2015. Beloved wife of the late Robert. Loving mother of Sharon (John) Ramos and Robert (Brenda) Lynn. Cherished grandmother of Michele (John) Reynolds, Kim Myers, Rachel Lynn, Jennifer Lynn, and Kari Lynn. Dearest great grandmother of 12. Josephine was a member of the Annunciata Senior Citizens and Women's Club. She was an avid seamstress, baker, and dancer. Josephine was a dear friend to many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
