THOMAS ANTHONY VERCELLINO MERRILLVILLE, IN Thomas Anthony Vercellino, Sr., age 80, of Merrillville, passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2016 at his home. Tom is survived by his children: Kathleen (David) Rutkowski-Toth, Thomas (Yolanda) Vercellino Jr., Tammy (Raymond) Scott Jr. and DeAnne (Kevin) Kiepura- Vercellino; grandchildren: Joseph Scott, Dana (Phil) Kiepura, Scott (Hannah) Rutkowski, Jessica Vercellino, Nicholas (Macy) Scott, Jason (Jimin) Rutkowski, Rachel Rutkowski and Samantha Vercellino; brother, Richard (Nancy) Vercellino; sisters: Sr. Dawn Vercellino, Lenore (George) Knox and Joyce Vercellino Galvan; and all of the Vercellino (Frigo)/Boomsma family members, nieces, nephews, close friends and their families. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Grace (Boomsma) Vercellino; parents: Anthonio "Tom" and Italia Vercellino; brother, Gerald Vercellino; sister, Joy (Vercellino) Butcher. Tom was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Schererville. He was retired from self-employment in the restaurant business/owner for over 30+ years. Tom enjoyed dining out and spending time with his large family and very close friends. He took great pride in his grandchildren and their accomplishments throughout the years. Special thanks to all his new friends at AHEPA 78-III, for making him feel welcome and at home. Kay and Tom, side by side forever and a day (again)!!!! Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Geisen Funeral, Cremation & Reception Centre , 606 E 113th Ave, Crown Point, IN 46307 from 3:30 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 5:30 p.m. with Fr. Martin Dobrzynski officiating. Services will conclude at the funeral home with cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Mary's Church-Food Pantry, 321 E. ROSE VLAHOS MUNSTER, IN Rose Vlahos age 92 of Munster, IN passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at the WJ Riley Hospice Residence. She is survived by her loving sister Katherine (late John) Nicolini; niece Kathleen Nicolini; cousins: Theodore Vlahos, Toni Vlahantones, Helen Balton, Mike Vlahantones. Preceded in death by her parents Nicholas and Panayiota Vlahos; brothers: Louis, Gus and James. Funeral service will be held on Monday, May 23, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. DIRECTLY at the St. George Greek Orthodox Church of Schererville (77th & Lincolnwood) with Rev. Constantine Aliferakis officiating. At rest Ridgelawn Cemetery in Gary, IN. Friends are invited to visit with Rose's family on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Lincoln Ridge Funeral Home 7607 W. Lincoln Hwy., Scherereville (Rt. 30 east of Cline Ave.) and Trisagion prayer service Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. Rose was a Steward of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Schererville and a member of the Women's Philoptohos Society and member of the Daughters of Penelope, Achilles Chapter #73, and a retired employee of the School City of East Chicago in 1991. In lieu of flowers donations may be given to the St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Schererville in Rose's name. The family is grateful to Hospice of the Calumet Area for their kind and compassionate care.
