Allison A. "Al" Johnson

Allison A. "Al" Johnson, Sr., age 91, of Fort Wayne, passed away Friday, January 11, 2013. Born April 8, 1921, he retired as a School Counselor from the Hammond, IN Public Schools after 16 years. After retirement, Al was a Realtor for Jordan Realty and Aldon Builders in Lake County, IN. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theatre. He was a member of St. Joseph United Methodist Church, 50 year member of the Wautoma Masonic Lodge #148. Surviving are: his wife, Patricia Ann; daughter, Mary (Don) Martin of Laguna Beach, CA; sons: Allison (Annette) Johnson, Jr. of Cimarron, NM, Dr. James (Holly) Johnson of Scottsdale, AZ, and John Scurtu of Griffith, IN; grandchildren: Shauna (Gustavo) Morales, Alison (Tony) Ortega, and John (Patricia) Scurtu; stepchildren: Vickie (Mark) Sitz of Fort Wayne and William Carpenter of Westerville, OH; step-grandchildren: Adam, Mary and Anna Sitz, Megan and Nathan Carpenter. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Linley Johnson, who died in 1982; daughter, Jean Ann Johnson-Scurtu who died in 1995; grandson, Donald Martin who died in 1982; and parents: Alfred and Sadie (Nichols) Johnson. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 noon (CST) Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Chapel Lawn Cemetery, Schererville, IN with Rev. Mark Wilkens officiating.
