Carl Kosinski

CARL A. KOSINSKI HIGHLAND, IN Carl Kosinski, age 55, of Highland, joined loved ones in paradise on March 1, 2014. Carl's journey through this life was filled with family and friends who loved him dearly. The treasured son of Raymond and Marilyn Kosinski, brother and friend of siblings: Barbara Herring, Diane (Ed) Figuly, Alan Kosinski, and Marianne (Rob) Dorsey; nieces: Melissa Herring, Brittany Figuly, Elise and Leah Dorsey; nephews: Johnny (Shannon) Herring, and Ian Figuly; many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. There are no words to express how much he will be missed. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Catherine of Sienna Church, 6525 Kentucky Ave., Hammond, IN on March 15, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Carl was dedicated to education and had a passion for learning, graduating from Indiana University (Bloomington) with Bachelor's degrees in English and Psychology and Master's degrees in Science and Theology. He also held CPA certificates in both Indiana and Illinois. Carl was an avid sports fan especially fond of the Indiana Hoosier's basketball program. His taste in music was very diversified, running the gamut from classical to Neil Young. Having a great desire for the outdoors, he loved camping in the winter, hiking during all seasons and the annual family trek to Brown County in the fall. Carl was so giving of his time and self. He volunteered at several places including his work as a Hospice volunteer and caring for infants at the Mayo Clinic. He loved unconditionally, and although he was very strong in his beliefs, he was nonjudgmental, always open to the thoughts and beliefs of others. He had a unique ability to bring any situation down to its simplest form. Carl's sense of humor was equally as diverse as his taste in music, his laugh was contagious and his smile would light up a room. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to Carl's parents to be distributed among his favorite charities.
