CHRISTOPHER NOWACZYK KNOX, IL
Christopher Nowaczyk, age 63, of Knox, IN, formerly of Lansing, IL, passed away Monday, July 1, 2013, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife, Diane (Nee Kozdras); children: Laura (Dennis) Cannon, Jennifer (Robert) Mc Dowell and Catherine Nowaczyk; grandchildren: Zachary, Matthew and Jacob Cannon; brother, Tim (Nora) Nowaczyk; along with many nieces and nephews. Christopher was preceded in death by his first wife, Therese; son, Michael; and parents, Raymond and Phyllis. Friends may visit with the family at Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Rd., Lansing, IL, on Sunday, July 7, from 1:00-7:00 p.m. Visitation will also take place on Monday, July 8, at the MC Smith Funeral Home, 153 E. Washington Street, Knox, IN., from 10:00 - 12:00. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 12:30 p.m., at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 406 Washington Street, Knox, IN, cremation will follow. Chris was a 30 year career Firefighter with the Village of Lansing having retired as a Lieutenant/Paramedic. He was a member of the Illinois Professional Firefighters Association. Chris and his wife Diane moved to Knox (Bass Lake) where he served as coordinator of the Neighborhood Watch, board member of the Bass Lake Property Owners Association and Past President of the Bass Lake Festival. He also was a coordinator of Food Services for Camp Quality, IL for numerous years.
