JEAN C. KUJAWA "GRANDMA" (NEE GAWRON) HAMMOND, IN Jean C. "Grandma" Kujawa, 86 of Hammond, IN, went to be with the Lord and the love of her life, her husband John, on January 11, 2013. She was at home with her family that she loved so much. She was born on June 16, 1926 in East Chicago, IN. She is survived by her children: Jackie (late Steve) Farmer, Mike (Barb) Kujawa, Melanie (Lou Jr.) Avenatti, all of Hammond and Midge Kujawa of Naperville, IL; nine grandchildren: Barbie (Tim) Bahorich, Angela (Ray) Farmer-Marsh, Christie (Craig) Hrinda, Michael Jr. (Tricia) Kujawa, Tom (Nicole) Kujawa, Greg and Rick Avenatti, Miles and Paige Kucer; nine great-grandchildren: Samantha Farmer, Breanna, Amanda and Joshua Farmer-Marsh, Abbey and Alyssa Bahorich, Isabelle and Julian Hrinda, and Ilse Kujawa; one brother, Ted (Gloria) Gawron; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, John; her parents: Michael and Rose Gawron; parents-in-law: John and Minnie Kujawa; three sisters; two brothers; and great granddaughter, Megan Bahorich. Jean was retired from Community Hospital and Simmons Company. She was a member of St. John Bosco Church in Hammond, Hammond resident for 53 years, who enjoyed gardening and baking and all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of the St. John Bosco Rosary Sodality, American Legion Auxiliary Unit 369, and the Polish Union of American #339. Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 15, 2013 DIRECTLY at St. John Bosco Church. Jean will lie in state at the church from 9:30 AM until the time of Mass at 10:00 AM with Fr. Rick Orlinski officiating. At rest, Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville. Friends may visit with the family on Monday, January 14, 2013 from 2:00 to 7:00 PM at the Solan-Pruzin Funeral Home, 7109 Calumet Avenue, Hammond. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to Hospice of the Calumet Area, 600 Superior Avenue, Munster, IN 46321. Jean was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all. Jean was a great friend to many.
