John J. Gorski

John J. Gorski, 89, of LaCrosse, passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at home. He was born October 19, 1924 in Hanna, IN to Joseph and Josephine (Biedrzyski) Gorski. John served in the U.S. Army and was a lifelong area farmer. He was awarded an Honorary Degree in Agriculture from Purdue University. John was a member of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in LaCrosse, Knights of Columbus, the LaCrosse Lions Club, and the Wanatah American Legion. On November 8, 1947 in Chicago, IL John married Pearl Gorski, who survives, along with six children: John (Deborah) Gorski of Valparaiso, Frank (Denise) Gorski of LaCrosse, Martha (Dale) Morris of Dowling, MI, Valerie (Tim) Parmer of Carmel, IN, Jim (Dawn) Gorski of LaCrosse and Carey (Phyllis) Gorski of LaCrosse; 15 grandchildren; and 34 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters. Visitation will be Monday, April 21, 2014 from 3:00-7:00 PM at Kosanke Funeral Home, Kouts, with the Rosary at 2:30 PM and Lion's Club service at 7:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 AM directly at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in LaCrosse with the Rev. Jerry Schweitzer officiating. Burial to follow at St. Martin Cemetery.
