JOHN W. SINCLAIR, JR. VALPARAISO, IN
John William Sinclair, Jr., age 86, of Valparaiso, IN went to be with The Lord in a completely peaceful manner on March 12, 2013. In heaven, he joins his beloved Betty Mary Elizabeth Sinclair who departed, January 25, 2013. He would gleefully proclaim how he was able to court, win and marry that fast walking blonde whom he worked with at The Hub in Steubenville, OH. They celebrated a 67 year marriage. John, the eldest son of a proud Scottish family of nine, was unable to finish high school due to family circumstances requiring him to begin a work career as an adolescent to assist in caring for the clan. John served in the U.S. Army
during World War II
guarding captured enemy forces. Later in his life, he proudly obtained his GED and through perseverance became an electrician spending a good share of his work years at Bethlehem Steel. When John wasnt working you would recognize him wearing his Scottish cap and walking the golf course carrying his own clubs. He enjoyed telling stories of his trips to Scotland to visiting his extended family. He loved his roses; he would cut a bloom, place in a vase and bring it to his love, Betty. His love for the The Lord was steadfast throughout his life but was never so evident as when he lovingly and sacrificially cared for his beloved wife, Betty. John is survived by his sons: Paul (KoLynn) of Yakima, WA and John (Vernice) of Knoxville, TN; brother, Art (Beverly) Sinclair; sisters: Jeanette Stoyakovich and Patricia (Dean) Hilzley; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents: Margaret John William; wife, siblings: James, Margaret, and Joey. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 12:00 noon at South Haven Christian Church. In lieu of flowers, please donate to South Haven Christian Church Women's Ministry.
