JOSEPH W. KOMOROWSKI
Joseph W. Komorowski, age 85, passed away peacefully in his home, Sunday, December 30, 2012. He is survived by his daughter, Robin Komorowski (Lisa Trudeau); son, Joseph "Jay" (Denise) Komorowski; and many loving brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and family members. One of ten children, Joseph was raised in Lansing IL. Upon graduating from Thornton Fractional High School, he served in the Army Air Corps during the end of WWII and returned to service in the Air Force during the Korean War. Joseph married Wilma Lee Smith on July 2, 1949. He found his true calling as a carpenter in Local 599 and his hobby, W.L. Ceramics. Joseph was a 4th degree member of Knights of Columbus, loved bowling and after the loss of his beloved wife, volunteered at Wounded Healers. He learned to live after the loss and enjoyed traveling with the companionship of his dear friend, Marie Harder. Joe had a great sense of humor, enjoyed his evening martini, and took great pride in remodeling his house. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Burns-Kish Funeral Home, 8415 Calumet Avenue, Munster, IN. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, IN.
