Kenneth G. Morlock

KENNETH G. MORLOCK LANSING, IL Kenneth G. Morlock, age 84, went home to be with Jesus on March 1, 2013. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Kari; his children: Keith Morlock and Janet (Paul) Behrens; and three grandsons: Ken, John, and Daniel (Rebekah) Behrens. Ken was born to Julius and Pearl Morlock of Chicago, IL in 1929. He graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois in 1951. He retired in 1992 after 44 years with Union Carbide Corp. The highlight of his long career was 11 years as plant manager of the UCC Alsip latex plant. He enjoyed warm winters in sunny Naples, Florida after his retirement. Ken was a devout member of the First United Methodist Church of Lansing for 58 years. He was born again on November 4, 1979 during a Lay Witness Mission. He served in many ways, especially as chairman of the Board of Trustees for 8 years. Ken was a lover of life, a lifelong learner, and devoted to his family, as well as the Chicago Cubs, Bears, Bulls and Hawks. He was a friend to all and adored by his wife and family. His forbearance and courage with major health concerns since 2005 has been a remarkable witness of trusting in God. He has inspired many, taught us much, and endeared himself to us all. Truly a wonderful life. A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 4, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church of Lansing, 18250 Burnham Ave., at 12:00 noon with visitation in the church sanctuary from 9:00 a.m. until the service. Pastor Barbara Page Kell will officiate.
