Kimberly Jean (Gingery) Fazekas

KIMBERLY JEAN FAZEKAS (GINGERY) GRIFFITH, IN Kimberly Jean (Gingery) Fazekas, age 43, resident of Griffith, IN passed away suddenly December 20, 2012 in Dyer, IN. She was born on September 7, 1969 in Gary, IN and grew up in Portage, IN. Kimberly enjoyed roller skating, ceramics, crafts, decorating, and donating time and resources to help others in time of need. In high school, she served on the Legend yearbook staff, becoming co-editor-in-chief her senior year. She graduated from Portage High School in 1987 and attended Indiana University Northwest. Kim worked in food service management for several years. For the last 12 years, she was a supervisor for UPS in Hodgkins, IL. For many years, Kim had dreamed of becoming a parent. When she welcomed her baby boy into the world in August 2010, it was the happiest day of her life. Kim is survived by her life partner, Stephanie Fazekas and their two year old son, Chase Douglas Fazekas of Griffith, IN; her mother, Delores Jean Blanco and stepfather, Bob Blanco of Portage, Indiana; her father, Harry Gingery of Dravosburg, PA; three sisters: Shari Melton of Portland, OR, Brenda (Steinhubel) Bailey of Vancouver, WA, and Tami (Gingery) Cale of Dravosburg, PA; and one brother, Kevin Joganic of Pines Township, IN. Other family members left behind include her three nephews: Jason Steinhubel, Michael Santoro, and Jeff Cale; two nieces: Nicole Cale and Jessica Joganic; along with many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and her three schnauzers: Bailey, Faith, and Tucker. A memorial service and celebration and of Kim's life will be held at the Villa Cesare, 900 Eagle Ridge Drive, Schererville, IN 46375 on Saturday, December 29, 2012 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in honor of her son, Chase Douglas Fazekas, at any Centier Bank location.
