Robert L. Griffin

Robert L. Griffin, 89 formerly of Hammond, IN, passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2013 peacefully at home with his family. Bob is survived by his loving children: Diane (Chuck) Dixon of LaPorte, IN, Bob (Bonnie) Griffin of Hammond, IN and Bill (Becky) Griffin of Highland, IN; eight grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild; sisters: Beverly (Mike) Barnett of Crown Point, IN and Sherry Kreiger of Wolcott, IN; sisters- in-law: Kathryn McDade and Julia Milobar; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Helen Griffin; parents: Lucille and Elmer Griffin; and brothers: Garth Griffin and Elmer Griffin Jr. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 19, 2013 from 3:00- 8:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave., Munster, IN. Funeral service will be on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be at St. John Cemetery, Hammond, IN. Bob enjoyed all sports, especially the Chicago Cubs and Bears. He was an avid duck hunter and fisherman and loved dancing. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of the VFW and International Painters Union. Bob was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, he will be greatly missed. Memorial contributions to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in his memory would be appreciated.
