ROBERT M. MATCZAK CROWN POINT, IN Robert M. Matczak, age 56, of Crown Point, IN, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2014. Robert is survived by his beloved wife, Cynthia; daughter, Eve Matczak (Vince Torres) of Hobart, IN; son: Joseph Matczak (Jillian Egipciaco) of Littleton, CO; granddaughter: Violet Thea Torres; sisters: Catherine Lentz (Greg Wasserott) of Lowell; Lisa (Greg) Jancich of Griffith and Kimberly Rutherford of Crown Point; brother-in-law: George (Marilyn) Rutkowski of La Grange Park, IL; godparents: late Mickey Meyers and Frances Maznaritz; godchildren: Matthew Maznaritz, Randy Lentz, Kayla and Rachael Rutherford; many loving cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: Walter A. and Helen E. Matczak; in-laws: Albin J. and Evelyn M. Rutkowski; grandparents: Stanley & Irene Lenczycki and Henry & Catherine Matczak; uncle: Melvin Maznaritz “Uncle Sarge”. Robert was a proud Brother of Operating Engineers, Local #150. He was an Alumni of St. Francis de Sales High School in Chicago, IL and coached Little League at Vet’s Park in Chicago. Robert enjoyed bass fishing, and was an avid Chicago White Sox and Green Bay Packers fan. He held the position of Secretary of Faith Formation at St. Mary Catholic Church in Crown Point and was a CSA Volunteer. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 7, 2014 from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at Geisen Funeral & Cremation Services located at 7905 Broadway, Merrillville, IN. Funeral prayers will be said on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 11:30 AM at Geisen Funeral & Cremation Services in Merrillville, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 PM at St. Mary Catholic Church, 321 E. Joliet St, Crown Point, IN with Fr. Pat Kalich officiating. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Crown Point.
