Robert W. Moore

Robert W. Moore, 85, of Spring Hill, Florida, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014. He was born in Wichita, Kansas on March 30, 1928 to the late Emmett and Esther (Williams) Moore. Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in Korea. He was a longtime resident of Valparaiso and worked as an advertising and public relations executive in both Valparaiso and Chicago for many years. On December 28, 1950 in Salina, KS, Robert married Peggy Louise Moore, who preceded him in death in 2005. He is survived by three children: Steven (Lori) Moore of Naperville, IL, James (Debbie) Moore of Carmel, IN, and Mary Ann (James) Colter of Valparaiso; and six grandchildren: Rachel (Kyle) Schafer and Jason Moore, Bradley and Bryan Colter, Sarah and Jeffrey Moore. He was also preceded in death by his son, John Moore. Bob enjoyed traveling and golf, was a longtime member of the Valparaiso Country Club, and served as its president for two terms. He was a proud graduate of Kansas State University and was an avid Wildcat fan. After retirement, Bob and Peggy moved to Spring Hill, Florida. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends each summer at Bear Lake, Michigan. Visitation will be Saturday, March 22, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Road, Valparaiso. A memorial service will be held immediately following visitation.
