Daisy Keatts Obituary

Daisy A. Keatts Portage/Valparaiso, IN Daisy A. Keatts, age 90, of Portage, IN, formerly of Valparaiso, IN, passed away Monday, August 13, 2007 at Fountainview Place Nursing Home in Portage, IN after a lingering illness. She is survived by one son, Charles (Shirley) Keatts of Portage, IN; four daughters: Geneva Sullivan of Hartford, MI, Joyce Sullivan of Mobile, AL, Mary Billingham of Crown Point, IN and Hope (Dennis) Pyle of Valparaiso, IN; 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; and step-sister, Sarah Claxton of Huntsville, AL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Keatts; parents: Harvey and Arlie Willis; and seven brothers. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 15, 2007 from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage, IN. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 16, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the South Haven Nazarene Church, 621 N. 450 W., Valparaiso, IN with Rev. Neil Stover and Dr. Horace Smith T.H.D.. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, IN. Daisy was a longtime member of the Black Oak Nazarene and South Haven Nazarene Church and Missionary President for over 30 years. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the VNA Hospice of Porter County. God looked around His garden and He found an empty place. He then looked down upon this earth and saw your tired face. He put His arm around you and lifted you to rest; God's garden must be beautiful, He only takes the best. He knew that you were suffering; He knew that you were in pain; He knew that you would never get well on earth again; So he closed your weary eyelids and whispered "Peace be Thine". It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone, for part of us went with you the day God called you home. May she rest in peace.

Just wanted to say how wonderful Granny was, the first day I met Gran she treated me like family and I just loved her like my own since. I will most miss her stories about the grandkids and how she laughed everytime telling me the stories she had. I will always keep her in my thoughts, and when I get down I think of her and the stories and it puts a smile on my face, I used to think when I used to catch her up on the counter tops cleaning her cabinets, gosh I wish I had the energy she has. She was such an inspiration to me and she I will miss her dearly with everyone else, but we know she wanted us to be strong and we are like everyone are trying hard. We love her so much and she will be greatly missed alot. I love you Granny and thank you again for sharing those special memories with me & for treating me like one of your own. Love always
