Nicole Gland Obituary
Nicole Elizabeth Gland, age 23, of Portage, IN passed away on April 19, 2017. She was born on June 29, 1993 in Valparaiso, IN to Matthew and Jessica (Pomeroy) Gland. Nicole is survived by her parents, Matthew and Jessica Gland; brother, Nathan Gland; maternal grandparents, Keith and Donna Pomeroy; paternal grandmother, Patricia Gland; aunts and uncles, Dale (Barbara) Pomeroy, Rob (Rose) Pomeroy, Johnny Vitoux, Chad (Becky) Pomeroy, Serena (Ivan) Rippe, Cassandra Schmidt; Mark (Donna) Gland, Karen (Bob) Cunningham, Tim (Gabriele) Gland, Beth Grundell, Kelly (Craig) O'Brien; loving boyfriend, Santos Ortiz, and numerous cousins, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Sharon Pomeroy; grandfather, Jack Gland; cousin, Michelle Pomeroy. Nicole was a lifelong area resident and was a graduate of Portage High School class of 2012. She was a bartender at the Upper Deck in Chesterton. Nicole liked the simple things in life and enjoyed spending time with her family. Friends looked to her for advice. She was very uplifting, inspirational, sweet, kind, and would do anything for anyone. Nicole loved chocolate, elephants, the beach and watching sports. She was an avid Chicago White Sox and Blackhawks fan and her favorite season was fall. Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 6941 Central Ave., Portage, IN 46368 with Chaplain Craig Forwalter officiating. Memorial Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until time of service at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Online condolences to the family may be made at: www.ee-fh.com

I never knew you, but I light a candle for you to help you find your path to heaven. A life taken too soon, a lot of hopes and dreams never to be realized.
