MARTHA ELLEN GREENIS (BACEVICH) CROWN POINT, IN Martha Ellen (Bacevich) Greenis, age 88, of Crown Point, IN passed away Friday, November 25, 2011. She is survived by her six children: Andrew (Nancy) Bacevich, Walpole, MA, and Mary Kay (Robert) Bobos of Crown Point, Thomas (Rita) Bacevich of Valparaiso, Michael (Leigh Ann) Bacevich of Bluffton, SC, Martha (Jerry) Tiede of Appleton, WI, and Joseph Bacevich of Kankakee, IL; 15 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; sister, Betty Lou Komlanc; and many nieces and nephews. Ellen was preceded in death by husbands: Andrew Bacevich and John W. Greenis; grandson, 1st Lt. Andrew John Bacevich; brothers: James and William Bulfer; and sister, Mary Beck. Ellen was a member of Our Lady of Consolation Church. She was a former member of Youche Country Club and St. Anthony Medical Center Auxiliary. She proudly served her country during WWII as a nurse in the U.S. Army. Ellen was a graduate of St. Elizabeth Hospital Nursing Program, Chicago. Her passions were her children, grandchildren, golf, and travel. Her latest life adventures included a trip down the Amazon River, an African Safari, and rafting through the Grand Canyon at age 70. Visitation will be held Sunday, November 27, 2011 from 2:00 to 5:00 at Geisen Funeral Home, 7905 Broadway, Merrillville, IN. St. Anthony Hospital Auxiliary service will be held at 3:00 PM. Prayer service will be held at 4:30 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held directly at Our Lady of Consolation Church, 8303 Taft Street, Merrillville on Monday, November 28, 2011 at 10:00 AM with Father Peter J. Muha officiating. Friends may meet with the family at 9:00 AM until the time of Mass. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Cemetery, Schererville. Memorials may be given in Ellen's name to St. Bede Academy, 24 W. US.
