ALAN G. BURNEY HAMMOND, IN
Alan G. Burney, age 56, of Hammond, passed away Thursday August 29, 2013. Alan is survived by his loving wife, Laura (nee Martin); son, Erik Levitt; sister, Jean (late Ed) Schuler; brother, Robert (Gina) Burney; uncle, Bill (Betty) Barrow; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and one great niece. Preceded in death by his parents: James and Opal; and brother, Joseph Wayne. Alan served his community as a Hammond Firefighter since 1985. In his younger days, he was a talented pitcher, playing baseball and softball. Alan was an avid Cubs, Bears, and Blackhawks fan. He will be dearly missed by his loving family. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at 7:30 PM at the Solan Pruzin Funeral Home, 7109 Calumet Ave., Hammond with Bill Barrow officiating. Cremation at Solan Pruzin Crematory to follow. Friends may visit with the family Tuesday from 2:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. solanpruzinfuneralhome.com
