Anthony Sapyta Obituary

ANTHONY SAPYTA DYER, IN Anthony Sapyta, age 97 of Dyer, formerly of Whiting, passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2010. He was the beloved husband for 67 years of the late Lucille Sapyta (nee Breclaw); loving father of Charles R. (Mary) Sapyta and Joseph J. (Susan) Sapyta; cherished brother of Roman (Julie) Sapyta, Josephine Mroz, John (Mary Ann) Sapyta, late Chester (Joyce) Sapyta, late Mary (late Tony) Sobota, late Helen (Joseph) Mendoza and late Charles Sapyta; dearest grandfather of seven; proud great grandfather of nine; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Anthony was a loving father and husband. He was a longtime active member of the St. John Prayer Group and St. Adalbert Parish. Anthony received numerous awards for volunteer service to St. Margaret's Hospital, St. Adalbert Parish and the Knights of Columbus. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, April 12, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church of Schererville with Rev. Mick Kopil officiating. Entombment Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Friends are invited to meet with the family at St. Michael Catholic Church of Schererville on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Whiting. Arrangements entrusted to the Owens-Ruzich Funeral Home, 816-119th Street, Whiting, IN. (219) 659-0417 or 659-0018.
