Beatrice Carter Banks Lake Station Beatrice Carter Banks, age 83 a longtime resident of Lake Station passed away Tuesday, January 4, 2004. She was retired from Continental Baking Co. She was a charter member of the Lake Station Eagles, life member of VFW Aux. Post 9323, past member of Moose Lodge. She was a past school crossing guard for Central Elementary and longtime bowler at Rays Lanes. Beatrice is survived by her sons William (Carolyn) Carter of Lake Station, James (Janet) Carter of Portage, Rich (Marie) Carter of Hammond; daughters Melodie (Chris) Delbec of AZ, Carol (Dan) Schultz of AZ, Margaret (Lee) Givens of KY, Jo (Lynn "Ace") Alexander of Portage, Betty (Corbie Burton) Owen of Lake Station; step-son Charles Banks of Valparaiso; brother Ozzie Colpen of IL; sister Marie Motter of IL; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Lillian and Max Colpen, son Harry E. Carter Jr., daughter Joni Dee Bastin. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, January 8, 2005 at Rees Funeral Home, Brady Chapel, 3781 Central Ave. Lake Station with VFW Aux. Post 9323 officiating. Cremation will follow in Calvary Cemetery and Crematory, Portage. Friends may call from 10:00 AM until time of services on Saturday at Rees Funeral Home, Brady Chapel.
