CARRIE LEE BURTS GARY, IN Carrie Lee Burts, age 87, of Gary, IN, passed away, June 7, 2009. She leaves to cherish her memories children: Gladys Burts, Robert (Betty) Burts of East Chicago, IN, and Johnnie (Earven) Boyd of Gary, IN; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one great grandchild; two sisters: Rosie Lee Griffin and Mary Ruth Pete; three brothers: Steven (Lillian) Tolbert of Gary, IN, Matthew Tolbert of Gary, IN and Ben D. Tolbert of East Chicago, IN; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June, 13, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at New Ebenezer Baptist Church, 3924 Kennedy Ave., East Chicago, IN with Reverend T. Brian Hill officiating. Visitation, Friday, June 12, 2009 from 2:00-8:00 P.M. at Divinity Funeral Home, 3831 Main Street, East Chicago, IN. Internment at Fern Oaks Cemetery, Griffith, IN. www.divinityfuneralhome.com

I was so sorry to come in on Sunday to find out the news. I am sad for you and your family but happy to know that she is no longer struggling. My prayers are with you and your family. I know you are never ready to have your mom leave but the good memories will eventually ease your loss.
