COREY MCKENZIE HESTERMANN HAMMOND, IN Corey Mckenzie Hestermann, age 16, of Hammond, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2012. Corey is survived by his parents: Stacey (Mike) Steyer (nee Thomas) and Jeff (Mary) Hestermann; brothers: Josh Hestermann and Mikey Steyer; grandparents: Dale (Mary) Hestermann and Frank (Mary) Thomas; aunt, Jordan Hestermann; uncle, D.J. Thomas; and many other cousins and family members. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 7:00 PM at the Solan Pruzin Funeral Home & Crematory, 7109 Calumet Ave., Hammond with Dc. Thomas Kriedler officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from 2:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Corey was a lifelong area resident, a sophomore at George Rogers Clark High School, an avid gamer and had plans to attend college to become a Video Game Designer. He was kind, generous and helpful, volunteering with Toy Drives and participating in activist events to help improve the world. Corey loved music and enjoyed reading. He will be deeply and dearly missed by all that were fortunate enough to have known him.
