DAVID JOHN PRESTIPINO David John Prestipino, age 74, passed away August 3, 2013. He was the beloved husband of Dianna; father of Peter, John, and Mary; grandfather of Joseph and Nicholas; brother to Patricia Redondo and Samuel Prestipino. David was born in Johnstown, PA and graduated from Johnstown Catholic High School. For 12 years, he served as a Brother with Priests of the Sacred Heart in Donaldson, IN. He left the brotherhood and went on to graduate from Marian College in Indianapolis, IN and received his MA in Sociology from Indiana State University in Terre Haute, IN. Mr. Prestipino and his family moved to Roanoke, VA in the early 1970s, where he opened the Achievement Center, a school for children with learning disabilities. There he served as the Development Director for nearly 20 years before coming back to Indiana for a Development Director position with Bishop Noll High School in Hammond, IN. He then served as CEO of Heritage Associates, where he consulted for Family Care of Lake County, IL, Hales Franciscan High School, and the DuSable Museum. Mr. Prestipino was a resident of Harmony Nursing & Rehabilitation in Chicago, and was attended by Guardian Hospice. Services will be held at St. John Bosco Church in Hammond, IN on August 24, 2013 at 12:00 noon with a memorial reception following at The Cavalier Inn in Hammond at 1:00 PM. All who knew David, who were touched by his kindness and generosity of spirit, are welcomed to attend.
