EARL EDWARD BURGER EAST SIDE
Earl Edward Burger, age 87, longtime resident of the East Side passed away on November 18, 2012 at his daughter's home. He was born December 5, 1924 in Greene County, OH to the late Raymond Allen and late Nora Catherine (nee Swigart) Burger. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy (nee Shaffer) Burger. Loving father of Timothy Burger, Earlene (Steve) Malachinski, and Charlene (James) Grinnan. Devoted grandfather of Lysa (Robert) Hegland, Julie Malachinski, Jason (Katie) Malachinski, Steven Malachinski, Tristan Malachinski, and Krystal-Lyn Burger. Great grandfather of seven. Dear brother of Jess (Louise) Burger, Allen (Pat) Burger, late Robert (late Sarah) Burger, and late Catherine Burger. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Earl was a WW II U.S. Navy veteran serving in both the Atlantic and Pacific aboard the USS Wake Island. He was a retired truck driver from the City of Chicago Department of Streets & Sanitation. Earl was a longtime member of St. Petri United Church of Christ on Chicago's East Side. Visitation Sunday, November 25, 2012 from 1:00-8:00 p.m. at the Elmwood Chapel, 11200 S. Ewing Ave., Chicago. Funeral services will be held Sunday evening at 7:30 p.m. A private family interment will take place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery Elwood, IL.
