Florence M. Bajer (nee Puralewski) Born November 3, 1914, Florence passed away peacefully Sunday morning, May 29, after a brief illness. Florence is survived by her loving and dear sister, Dorothy Nozka; sisters-in-law: Evelyn Stec and Jean Bajer; good friend and helpful neighbor, Jane Lasota; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are husband, Stanley (Buck) Bajer; daughter, Kathleen; parents: Ignatius and Margaret Puralewski; brother, Jerome Puralewski; and brother-in-law, Charles Nozka. A long-time parishioner of St. Victor's Church in Calumet City. Florence enjoyed being a member of their Young at Heart Club. Florence was employed for 30 years at Queen Anne Candy Company in Hammond from September 13, 1948 until April 28, 1978, where she worked in the sample room until her retirement. She enjoyed her retirement, especially avid reading, senior outings, her much loved bingo and Wheel of Fortune and indulging her well-known sweet tooth. Florence's family and friends are left to treasure the memory of this gentle, caring and generous soul. Funeral service Friday 9:00 a.m. from Hennessy-Nowak Funeral Home, 400 Pulaski Road (154th Street), Calumet City, IL 60409 to St. Victor Church, Mass 9:30 a.m. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation Thursday from 3 to 8 p.m. The family would like to extend thanks to the staff at St. James Manor in Crete, who gave Florence good care during her convalescence and the staff at St. James Hospital in Chicago Heights for care and comfort during her last days.
