HELEN I. (SUM) BORG HEBRON, IN Helen I. (Sum) Borg, age 89, of Hebron, IN, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2009 at St. Anthony Hospice in Crown Point, IN. Helen was the youngest daughter of Felicianna (Rokoszi) and Jan Sum (both deceased and immigrants from Austria/Poland). She was born on October 27, 1919 in Yorkrun, PA and was the wife of Tage Borg who was born in Sweden and survives her. Tage and Helen have three daughters: Barbara (Denis) Jenkins of Portage, IN, Phyllis Borg (Bill Layman) of Fort Wayne, IN and Kathleen (Chuck) Palia of Lisle, IL. Helen was a loving grandmother to four grandchildren: Wayne (Hong Mei) Byarlay of Champaign, IL, Jennifer Blank of West Palm Beach, FL, Stephanie Byarlay (Robert) Rothrock of Fort Wayne, IN and Erin Thomas (Brian) Orr of Chicago, IL. Helen has two great-grandchildren: Andrianna Saporita of West Palm Beach, FL and Mia Li Byarlay of Champaign, IL. Step-grandchildren include: Stephanie Palia (Dave) Henke of Cypress, TX, Matt Palia of Illinois and Walter Layman of Salt Lake City. She is also survived by her sister, Stella Osika; and her brother, Andrew Sum. Preceded in death by four sisters: Mary Colville, Josephine Chestovich, Julia Thompson and Katherine Sum; four brothers: Frank (Jack), Martin, Joseph and Stanley Sum. Funeral prayers will be said on Friday, January 30, 2009 at 9:30 AM at Geisen Funeral Home, 624 N. Main, Hebron, IN followed by funeral services at 10:00 AM at St. Helen's Catholic Church, 302 N. Madison Street, Hebron, IN with Fr. Derrick Dudash officiating. Interment at Calvary Cemetery in Portage, IN. Friends may visit with the family at Geisen Funeral Home, Hebron, IN on Thursday, January 29, 2009 from 2:00 to 8:00 PM. Vigil service at 2:00 PM. Helen was a devout Catholic and attended St. Helen's Catholic Church in Hebron, IN and worked for the Anderson Company before her marriage.
