HENRY A. FRANZ CROWN POINT, IN
Henry A. Franz, age 88, of Crown Point, IN, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2014. Henry is survived by his wife, Barbara A. Sebben; daughter, Cynthia Franz; step-sons: George (Michelle) Sebben and Michael (Kathryn) Sebben; grandchildren: Allen, Rebecca, Lucas and Trevor; brothers: Michael and Arnold; sisters: Ida, Irene and Anna; sister-in-law, Pauline; many nieces and nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Cecelia H. Franz; parents: Andy and Katharina; step-mother, Sara; brothers: Willi and Eckart. Henry was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. He retired from U.S. Steel in 1983. Henry continued working with them as a consultant, traveling throughout the U.S. and world. He enlisted in the Navy at the end of WWII and served in the U.S. Army. Henry loved crossword puzzles, reading and was a published writer. He was a proud member of the Masonic Lodge. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 30, 2014 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at Geisen Funeral Home, 606 E. 113th Ave./South St. Crown Point, IN and on Monday, March 31, 2014 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 7667 E. 109th Ave, Crown Point, IN from 9:30 to 10:00 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, March 31, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with Fr. Tom Mischler officiating. Interment will take place at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
