JACK "SIDEWALK" ADAMS "PAPA" HIGHLAND, IN Jack Adams, age 75, of Highland, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2013. He is survived by his wife, Margie; son, Jack Daniel (Rachel) Adams; daughter, JoAnne Lane; beloved grandchildren: Cora, Jenna, and Lily Lane; many wonderful nieces and nephews; and his dear cat, Jinger. Jack was preceded in death by his parents: Ralph and Jessie Adams; and sister, Shirley Holden. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 13, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. James Church, 9640 Kennedy Ave. in Highland. Visitation will be Sunday, May 12, 2013 from 2:00-7:00 p.m. (prayer service 3:00 p.m.; Elks service 6:00 p.m.) at the Fagen-Miller Funeral Home, 2828 Highway Ave. in Highland. Jack was retired from Inland Steel and owned the Golf Locker Store in Highland. He played in two bands as a drummer for over 30 years: The Carpet Baggers and A Little Night Music. He also ran the range at Wicker Park Golf Course for many years. His passion was golfing and music. Jack was a member of St. James Church in Highland and a lifetime member of the Highland Elks. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears and Chicago White Sox. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of the Calumet Area. Jack will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
