JAMES A. ELDRIDGE "JIM" HAMMOND, IN James A. Eldridge, age 84, of Hammond, passed away Thursday October 11, 2012. He is survived by his children: Jacquelyn (Les) Krager, of Hammond, Bobby (Susan) Eldridge, of TX, Pat Teets, of FL, Wanda (late Tony) Martinez of East Chicago, Frances (late Jesse) O'Campo of Hammond, Pam (fiance Dan Hull) Eldridge of Hammond, and Butch Eldridge of Hammond; 15 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; sister, Margie (Minor) Travis; brother, Howard (Betty) Eldridge; many nieces and nephews; and close family friend, Carlene McGaha. Preceded in death by his loving wife of 41 years, Evelyn; and great grandsons: Isreal Martinez and Dominick Velasquez. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday October 16, 2012 at 10:00 AM at the Solan Pruzin Funeral Home, 7109 Calumet Ave., Hammond. At rest Elmwood Cemetery Hammond. Friends may visit with the family on Monday, October 15, 2012 from 3:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Jim was the owner of "Jim's Furniture Store" for many years. He worked for CPT Trucking in Hammond with 25 years of service and was a member of the Teamsters Local 142. Jim also enjoyed going to flea markets of Sundays. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice of the Calumet Area would be appreciated.
