Jerome J. Hajduch, 79, of Whiting passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at the St. Anthony Hospice, Crown Point. He was the beloved son of the late Andrew and Anna (Kovacik) Hajduch. He was preceded in death by four brothers: Andrew, Richard, David and the Rev. Joseph B. Hajduch, C.PP.S.. He is survived by two sisters-in-law: Carol Hiduke and Norma Hajduch; and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be offered on Saturday, August 14, 2010, 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 119th St., and Lincoln Ave., Whiting. Interment of cremains will be at St. John Cemetery, Hammond. There was no visitation. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th St., Whiting. Jerry Hajduch was born on December 21, 1930 in Whiting, Indiana. He was a lifelong resident, a graduate of Whiting High School and a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict, a member of the Knights of Columbus, Pope John XXIII Council 1696 and was a retiree of the American Maize Products Co., Hammond.
