John Newton Obituary
John H. Newton, age 61, of Hammond, passed away Tuesday, January 4, 2011. He is survived by his loving sister, Pamela Moore of DeMotte; son, Johnathon Brown of Gary; daughter, Leah Newton of Hammond; brother, Tom Newton of Florida; cousin: Tom Raycroft and family; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents: Harold and Jean Newton; and daughter, Krystal. John was a lifelong resident of Hammond. He was a graduate of Hammond Tech High School. John enjoyed fishing and was owner-operater of Great Lakes Bait and Tackle in Whiting and Lake Station. He enjoyed his favorite pet, "Moose", the cat. He was a member of All Saints Church and Fraternal Order of Eagles. Private services were held for his family. Burns-Kish Funeral Home, Hammond, IN in charge of arrangements. www.burnskish.com
