JOSEPH E. AMELING MERRILLVILLE, IN Joseph E. Ameling, age 58, of Merrillville, passed away Monday, November 29, 2010. Joe is survived by his wife, Linda; two children: Benjamin (Emily) Ameling of Crown Point and Joseph (fiance Amber Jimenez) Ameling of Merrillville; two grandchildren: Brigid and Elizabeth; mother, Teresa Ameling-Griffin of Merrillville; one sister, Susan (David) Hoecker of Canton, OH; two brothers: William (Lynne) Ameling of Seattle, WA and Henry (Ann) Ameling Edinburg, TX; mother-in-law, Shirley Ferguson of Midland, MI; two sisters-in-law: Janet (Bob Coleman) Conner of Pinconning, MI and Laurie (Tom) Bledsoe of Midland, MI; and loving cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral prayers will be said on Friday, December 3, 2010 at 9:15 a.m. at Geisen Funeral Home, 7905 Broadway, Merrillville, IN followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, 801 W. 73rd Ave., Merrillville, IN with Rev. Brian D. Chadwick officiating. Interment to follow at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville. Friends may visit with the family Thursday, December 2, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Geisen Funeral Home, Merrillville, with a prayer service Thursday at 7:00 p.m. Joe was the current Athletic Director and P.E. teacher at Kahler Middle School in Dyer. He was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Church. Joe was an avid golfer, but most of all he was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
