Lizette Amelia Muriel Tetzloff (nee Ericksen), 89 of Merrillville, IN passed away on March 1, 2013. She was born November 9, 1923 in Reliance, Lyman County, SD to James W. and Amanda V. (Finck) Ericksen, one of 13 brothers and sisters. She is survived by a son, Larry (Katie) Tetzloff of Crown Point, IN; three daughters: Lydia Elsom of Spokane, WA, Patty Stover of Hollywood, FL, and Lauren (Art) Ziller of Ackworth, GA; as well as six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Also surviving are: one brother, Bob (Lois) Ericksen of Tacoma, WA; two sisters: Lois (Erven) Hagen of Takoma, WA and Margaret DeBon of Chico, CA; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Tetzloff was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Richard Tetzloff Sr. on March 11, 2012. During WW II, Lizette worked as a "Rosie the Riveter" assembling planes in Tacoma, WA and was a member of the U.S. Air Force Reserves from 1956 to 1958 stationed at O'Hare International Airport. She worked for various employers including North American-Indiana Forge and Vidimos, Inc. both in East Chicago, IN where she made many fond friendships. Mrs. Tetzloff was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Merrillville, IN, a past member of both the Lake County Extension of Homemakers, and the Sherwood Golf Club Ladies League. She and her husband enjoyed traveling around the country RV'ing visiting all 50 states. She, like her husband, believed in the greatness of God, her country and mankind's natural freedoms. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Kuiper Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Moe officiating. She will be laid to rest with her husband at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL. Friends may call on the family at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road, Highland, IN on Wednesday, March 6 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM and on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
