LORRAINE C. WADE (NEE VULETICH) CHICAGO (HEGEWISCH), IL Lorraine C. Wade (nee Vuletich), 77, of Chicago passed away peacefully on the morning of Monday, July 8, 2013 at the home of her daughter in New Lenox, IL after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of the late Vernon R. Wade (CFD) who passed away July 1, 2000; loving mother of Steve (Elaine Lee) Wade of River Forest, IL and Laura (Paul) Strahanoski of New Lenox, IL; cherished grandmother of Collin Wade, Aidan Wade, Luke Strahanoski and Caleb Strahanoski; dearest sister of Genevieve (late Joseph) Gyura, Anthony (Barbara) Vuletic and William (Dolly) Vuletic; dear aunt to many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 15, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th St., Whiting. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Whiting with the Rev. Kevin M. Scalf, C.PP.S., officiating. Interment Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL. Visitation at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Members of the parish will offer prayers at the funeral home on Sunday at 4:00 p.m. Lorraine Wade was born on April 25, 1936 in Chicago, IL to Anton and Ljubica (Pirsic) Vuletich. She was a longtime resident of the Hegewisch Neighborhood of Chicago and was a graduate of Bowen High School, Chicago, Class of 1954. Lorraine was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Whiting and the Croatian Fraternal Union. She was a former employee of Illinois Bell Telephone, the Phil Smidt & Son Restaurant, Santini Restaurant, Sam's Club, and was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.
