Mil was born the youngest of eleven children in Whiting, IN to Slovakian immigrant parents and attended Immaculate Conception Church and School. She worked hard in jobs at various businesses in Whiting including Queen Anne Candy and Standard Oil (where she dug ditches!) before marrying Frank in 1948. The two moved to Hammond (Hessville) and then her real work began raising six children. Mil was a devoted, selfless mother who always put her children first, oftentimes called the “Best Mother”. She enjoyed going to church at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, had perfect penmanship, great at spelling, beautiful skin, loved pizza and ice cream, and was always ready with her great sense of humor. She will always be in the hearts and minds of her children, grandchildren, and family and friends. For information, call (219) 736-5840.
