MYRON "CHIP" RUPP PORTAGE, IN Myron "Chip" Rupp, age 58, of Portage, passed away on March 27, 2013. He was born on March 7, 1955 to Myron T. and Madeline (Hajvert) Rupp. Chip is survived by his wife, Mary Ann (Dahlstrom) Rupp of Portage; mother, Madeline (Hajvert) Rupp of Indio, CA; children: Joseph Rupp and Trisha Rupp of Scottsdale, AZ; children of his heart: Zachary (Tracy) Kinsey of Burns Harbor, Jade Kinsey of Crown Point; loving and devoted siblings: Karen (Bernie) Lohmuller of Ft. Wayne, Laura (Mike) Gallinatti of Griffith, Kevin (Pat) Rupp of Gowin, MI, Diane (Claire) Rupp of Indio, CA, Indie (Chris) Rupp of N. Redington Beach, FL, and Kristin "Booter" (William) Pendley of Beaumont, CA; uncle, James (Marge) Rupp of Valparaiso; aunt, Mary (Carl) Hurst of Goshen; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was a graduate of Andrean High School, Class of 1973, a veteran of The U.S. Navy, and retired from U.S. Steel after over 39 years of service. Chip was very passionate about living life to the fullest with his soul mate Mary Ann. He enjoyed boating, camping, biking, and finding "simple treasures" on the beach. He enjoyed watching and feeding his backyard birds. Chip never took any moment in life for granted and he thanked the Lord every day for the opportunity of being able to enjoy it. A celebration of Chip's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at St. Francis Catholic Church, 2447 Putnam, Lake Station, IN 46405 with Fr. Kime officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 2, 2013 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 6941 Central Ave., Portage, IN 46368.
