PATRICIA R. GOBIN WHEATFIELD, IN
Patricia R. Gobin, (Beiswanger), 58, of Wheatfield, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2013 at her home. She was born February 10, 1955 in Gary, the daughter of William R. and Leone K. (Schmidt) Beiswanger, who preceded her in death. Patty was a feeder helper at U.S. Steel and a member of Women of Steel thru the union at U.S. Steel. On April 15, 1994 in Valparaiso, she married Dan Gobin, who survives in Wheatfield. Also surviving is her daughter, Nicole (Kevin) Merry of Demotte; a grandson Jayson; a sister, Susie (William) Baker of Valparaiso; three brothers: Jack (MaryAnne) Beiswanger, Pete (Robin) Beiswanger, and Robert Beiswanger all of Valparaiso; and a special friend, Linda Shaw. Patty loved children and often took them on trips. She was passionate about flowers and would be found in her flower gardens. She was a kind, generous, giving, and hard working person. Visitation with the family will be Sunday, May 26, 2013 from 4:00-8:00 PM at Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe St., Valparaiso. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 8:00 PM with Tim McCurdy officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family.
