Paula "Poli" Tellez, age 76 of East Chicago, IN passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2013. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Manuel Tellez; three children: Elizabeth (Eddie) Gonzalez of Griffith, IN, Patricia Tellez of East Chicago and Victor (Carolyn) Tellez of South Bend, IN; eight grandchildren: Omar (Jennifer) Gonzalez, Joshua and Jordan Gonzalez, Priscilla Hernandez, Jessica, Jacklyn, Victoria and Jacob Tellez; two great grandsons: Landon and Luca; three brothers and six sisters; numerous nieces and nephews; many dear friends, especially, Luz Herrera and Leticia Salinas, who were like daughters to her, and Orestila Gutierrez. Preceded in death by grandson, Alfredo Tellez; and sister, Maria Villarreal. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 9:15 a.m. from the FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN and 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, East Chicago with Rev. Juan C. Gonzalez, C.PP.S. and Rev. Jose Gonzalez concelebrating. Burial to follow at St. John Cemetery, Hammond, IN. Visitation at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME will be from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 3, 2013. Paula was a longtime member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. She loved to play Bunco, Loteria, going to the Casinos and traveling with her husband. She also loved planting flowers and spoiling her grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude's research would be appreciated.
