PHILIP JOHN HRUSKOCY IDAHO/WHITING, IN Philip John Hruskocy, 60 of Hayden, Idaho, formerly of Whiting, passed away Monday, October 14, 2013 in Idaho. Beloved father of Justin (Kimberly) Hruskocy of Spokane, WA; adoring grandpa of Rosalyn; cherished brother of Patricia Stasik of Valparaiso, Bridget (John) Lemmons of Hammond, David (Laura) Hruskocy of Crown Point, Mark (Laura) Hruskocy of Whiting; many dear nieces, nephews, aunts, uncle and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents: John and Colleen (Mold) Hruskocy; his brother, Michael; and sister Kathleen. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 25, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th St., Whiting. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, Whiting, with the Rev. Stanley J. Dominik, officiating. Interment at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville. Visitation at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Philip Hruskocy was born in Hammond, Indiana on September 19, 1953 and had been a resident of Idaho for the past 38 years. He grew up in Sacred Heart Parish, Whiting and was a graduate of George Rogers Clark High School, Class of 1971. Phil was a member and secretary of the Coeur D’Alene Native Plant Society and was a founding member of Vaccination Liberation. Philip was a published author and a loving and compassionate care giver. He was the “great outdoorsman” and loved to roller skate. Phil enjoyed music and loved to play his guitar. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
